safeTALK-Suicide Alertness - Avalon Saturday November 4th, 2023

safeTALK-Suicide Alertness - Avalon Saturday November 4th, 2023

SafeTALK trainer Joe Tighe will be running the SafeTALK Suicide Alertness session at the Avalon Recreation Centre on Saturday November 4th between 1pm and 4pm.

Dr Joe completed his PhD in suicide prevention at the Black Dog Institute and the University of New South Wales and now works as an associate psychologist at BPsych Clinic, Mona Vale.

The session is for all members and community members concerned about mental health issues and how to identify at-risk persons.

Joe is an ambassador for Livingworks ASIST and safeTALK training - global leaders in suicide prevention training. SafeTALK is a half-day training in suicide alertness.

This session helps participants recognise a person with thoughts of suicide and connects them with resources who can help them stay safe. Participants don’t need any formal preparation to attend the training—anyone age 15 or older who wants to help create a suicide safer community can learn the simple safeTALK steps.
